The City Council achieves the highest possible score in economic and financial transparency (100%) and 95% compliance in urban planning and public works. The municipality's performance reflects an improvement of 160 places in Spain, from 167th position, and from 37th to first in the regional ranking. The coordination of all departments and the work of municipal employees are fundamental to facilitating citizen access to public information and strengthening accountability.

Torrevieja City Council has been ranked as the most transparent local government in the Valencian Community and seventh in Spain, according to the latest update of the DYNTRA index (Dyntra Town Halls and Municipalities), evaluated and verified yesterday, October 21, by this independent platform. The municipality achieved an 85.33% compliance rate, meeting 157 of the 184 published indicators , thus consolidating its position among the ten most transparent local governments in the country.

The Councillor for Innovation and Transparency, Ricardo Recuero, highlighted the progress made in recent years, which has allowed the city to move from 167th to 7th place in Spain as a whole and from 37th to 1st in the Valencian Community. This upward trend has continued in recent months: since last April, when it ranked 22nd nationally, the City Council has climbed another 15 places .

These results reflect ongoing administrative modernization efforts and, in particular, the involvement of all municipal departments. The collection, review, updating, and publication of this information requires continuous coordination between the various departments so that citizens can easily access information on how the City Council is organized, what decisions it makes, and how it manages public resources.

In this regard, the City Council recognizes the work of municipal employees, whose daily efforts make it possible to maintain this level of transparency. The result achieved is a collective accomplishment that reflects the shared responsibility of providing useful information and facilitating the monitoring of municipal activity.

“Being ranked number one in the Valencian Community and among the top ten in Spain is not an end in itself, but proof that the residents of Torrevieja have more information than ever before about how their resources are managed. It is a collective achievement of the municipal workers, and we will continue working to improve the indicators that we still have pending, especially in open data and citizen participation,” said Ricardo Recuero.

By area, the City Council achieves 100% in economic and financial transparency , its highest-rated area, and 95% in urban planning and public works . These results highlight the information available on budgets, accounting, and municipal debt, as well as the tools that allow for monitoring budget execution and tracking major public works projects.

The evaluation also awards 85.19% in service contracts , 81.82% in municipal transparency , 76.92% in citizen participation and collaboration , and 50% in open data.

The municipal Open Government Portal, accessible at gobiernoabierto.torrevieja.es , is a central tool in this process by gathering and organizing the City Council's public information, facilitating its consultation and offering downloadable and reusable content.

DYNTRA is a collaborative and independent platform that dynamically evaluates public information provided by government agencies and other entities. Its indicators allow users to verify the availability of content related to institutional organization, financial management, procurement, urban planning, and citizen participation.

The Torrevieja City Council will continue to work in a coordinated manner to expand and update the available information, improve pending indicators and strengthen day by day an open, accessible administration committed to accountability to citizens.
