The drafting of the project for the comprehensive redevelopment of Torreta Florida is put out to tender for 80,000 euros.
The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council approved yesterday, Friday, October 23, the explanatory memorandum, technical specifications, and technical specifications for the contract to draft the redevelopment project for polygon 10-A, Torreta Florida, of the La Torreta Partial Plan. The contract is being put out to tender through a simplified open procedure, with a budget of €80,000 (VAT included) and a completion period of four months , starting the day after its formalization.
This contract will provide the necessary technical documentation to plan and cost the comprehensive renovation of public roads and urban infrastructure in this residential area. The goal is to define a coordinated intervention that improves street usability, facilitates pedestrian movement, and adapts existing services to the current needs of the development.
The Councillor for Urban Services, Sandra Sánchez, reports that municipal technical reports justify the need for this project due to the age of the public spaces and infrastructure. Most of the streets have deteriorated and narrow sidewalks, creating conditions that hinder compliance with current accessibility requirements. The project must define the renovation of sidewalks and roadways, paying particular attention to the continuity of accessible pedestrian routes, crosswalks, slopes, and access points.
The sewage and drinking water supply networks will also be analyzed to determine the necessary renovation, upgrade, or replacement work. One of the key aspects will be the study of urban drainage, since Torreta Florida generally lacks a stormwater drainage network, except for a few isolated projects, and there is a history of problems associated with heavy rainfall events.
The project, adds Sandra Sánchez, will also address the need to upgrade public lighting, including conduits, supports, and light fixtures, using energy efficiency criteria. Regarding telecommunications, the project will study the organization and possible undergrounding of overhead lines that run along poles and building facades and that, in certain areas, interfere with pedestrian access.
The documentation will also include information on trees, street furniture, vertical and horizontal signage, and infrastructure related to waste collection. It will also analyze needs related to electricity, gas, irrigation, and other urban services, in coordination with the managing entities and affected companies, incorporating criteria for sustainability and material durability.
The area will include the urban roads located on both sides of the Green Way. The former railway platform, currently converted into a Green Way and subject to a separate project, will be excluded, as will, in general, any green areas not included in this project.
The contract will be awarded based on the best value for money, with a maximum score of 51 points for quality criteria and 49 for the price . With this agreement, the City Council is moving forward with the preparation of a comprehensive project aimed at renovating the infrastructure of Torreta Florida and improving the quality of its public spaces.
