And what do you see? Good Treatment Detectives
The Pangea Office and the Equality Unit are organizing a participatory activity to promote equality and prevent violence against women on the occasion of November 25th.
The initiative, promoted through the Department of Social Welfare , is part of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and seeks to raise awareness among citizens through everyday situations.
The Department of Social Welfare of the Torrevieja City Council, through the Pangea Office and the Equality Unit, has organized the activity "And what do you see? Everyday stories, important realities" , an awareness and prevention proposal that will be developed on the occasion of November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women .
The activity will take place on Monday, November 16, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Multipurpose Building, located at Habaneras Avenue, number 8 , and aims to offer citizens a space for meeting, reflection and learning about equality between women and men, relationships based on respect and good treatment, and the prevention of violence against women.
The initiative will be developed using a dynamic, practical, and participatory methodology. Through everyday stories and situations, participants will be able to reflect on behaviors related to inequality, control, jealousy, discrimination, or violence, as well as identify attitudes that can sometimes become normalized in personal, family, social, or work relationships.
The session will be facilitated jointly by the Equality Officer and the Intercultural Mediator from the Pangea Office, combining a gender perspective with an intercultural approach that promotes dialogue, participation and respect for diversity.
The objectives of this initiative include fostering egalitarian relationships, identifying warning signs, reflecting on gender roles and stereotypes, and offering practical tools for responding to situations of inequality or violence . Information will also be provided on available support and resources in Torrevieja and on how to seek help, both for oneself and for supporting someone who may be experiencing violence.
This activity is aimed at adults registered as residents of Torrevieja, both women and men, regardless of their nationality or immigration status. The involvement of all citizens is essential to moving towards a more egalitarian society, where respect, personal autonomy, and kindness form the basis of relationships.
To mark November 25th, this initiative seeks to contribute to social awareness and remind everyone that preventing violence against women requires the involvement of the entire society, starting with learning to recognize the signs of inequality and questioning behaviors that do not promote healthy and respectful relationships.
To ensure active participation and facilitate the exchange of opinions, places will be limited to a maximum of 30 people , so prior registration will be required until capacity is reached. Participants will also receive a certificate of participation.
Those interested can register through this link provided for the activity, in person at the Department of Social Welfare, or by sending an email to pangea@torrevieja.eu
The Department of Social Welfare encourages citizens to participate in this initiative, which offers an opportunity to share points of view, question preconceived ideas and acquire useful tools to recognize situations of inequality and contribute, from day to day, to building a fairer, more equal and violence-free society.
