The city council will renew a large part of the public lighting in the urban area of Torrevieja and the southern area of La Mata

TORREVIEJA (09-23-2021). The Councilor for Quality of Urban Services of the Torrevieja City Council, Sandra Sánchez, informs that the Alicante Provincial Council has approved a grant of 912,620 euros for the drafting of the project and work of Installation renovation of public lighting in the urban area of Torrevieja and part of the rest of The Kill ".

Sandra Sánchez has highlighted this important subsidy from the provincial administration that will involve the replacement of a total of 1,190 new LED luminaires with a forecast of energy savings of 53%, which will mean the savings of more than 70,000 euros in monetary value yearly on the electricity bill. In addition, the luminaires to be installed have the possibility of including the system known as Smart City pre-installed. Likewise, adds the mayor of Quality of Urban Services, all the supports of the luminaires (columns, poles and posts) will receive a sanitizing treatment and those that are in poor condition of conservation will be replaced.

In this way, Sandra Sánchez has highlighted that a large part of the urban area of the city of Torrevieja and a good part of La Mata are going to renew and modernize their public lighting.

In La Mata, all the lights will be replaced in the wide area that includes the Parque del Molino del Agua and the Molino Blanco, while in Torrevieja the existing ones will be renewed from the Acequión neighborhood to Avenida Diego Ramírez passing through the Marina Internacional area, Vista Alegre promenade and up Azorín and Ramón Gallud up to Apolo street. Finally, the lights in the San José and San Luis streets will also be replaced.
