The Councilor for Innovation and Modernization, Ricardo Recuero, has offered a press conference this morning on the occasion of the first anniversary of the implementation of Electronic Administration in the Torrevieja City Council. Recuero has emphasized the great advance that the digitization of administrative processes in the Torrevieja town hall has meant for our city, assuming cost and paper savings and, in the workplace, being able to work more efficiently, quickly and with greater productivity.

He also thanked the entire team of the Department of Innovation and Informatics that has made this implementation possible in record time.

Ricardo Recuero has made a compilation of the data obtained during this year of electronic implementation in the City Council:

-60% of the registrations are already carried out electronically.

-More than 1,500 telematic meetings have been held during confinement and the pandemic (government boards, plenary sessions, information commissions, spokespersons' meetings, etc.)

-Through 14 departments of the City Council, 42,000 people have been given prior appointment

Regarding the internal management of the town hall, more than 600 officials already manage all the internal and external work of the city electronically.

Furthermore, e-government has made teleworking a reality. In just one year, we have gone from face-to-face and paper-based management to the possibility of having a “home office” in all the departments and officials of our City Council. In addition, Ricardo Recuero has announced that during the summer the new municipal website will already be up and running, which has already been awarded and that the Wi-Fi in the City Hall has been renewed.

For all this, the mayor of Innovation has reported that the Torrevieja City Council has been a finalist for the prestigious ASLAN AWARDS for the digital transformation that has been carried out in record time. These awards recognize the efforts of public organizations and companies in the implementation of new technologies to provide better services to citizens, improve efficiency and optimize costs.
