The City Council recovers municipal aid for school transport after five years of absence

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, have offered a press conference this morning to announce that, after five years of absence, the City Council recovers the municipal aid for school transport, which which will be an economic benefit for all families with children and young people of school age.

The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 business days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante, that is, from Monday, August 30.

Students of second cycle Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Initial Professional Qualification Programs, Baccalaureate, Professional Training, enrolled in public schools or institutes of the city, will be able to benefit from these aid for the school year 2020-2021 Torrevieja, who are accredited users of the school transport service and have been forced to make transport costs to travel to their school or public institute.

The beneficiaries must be registered and reside in the municipality of Torrevieja, both the student and the parents or legal representatives, at least two years before making the application and during the entire 2020/2021 school year.

The grants will be granted for a maximum period of 10 months, between September 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

The maximum individual amount of the aid will be 57 euros per month for those students who use school transport 2 daily trips, for a maximum period of ten months, between September 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. In In no case may the amount of the aid exceed the amount of the expenses justified by the applicants / beneficiaries.

These grants will be processed in a competitive competition regime, respecting the principles of equality, objectivity, transparency and publicity. They will be granted according to the economic level of the student's family, calculating the per capita income of the family unit, that is, the family income divided by the number of computable members of the family unit; and also attending to the particularities of the family unit.

The maximum income of the total family unit to be entitled to the subsidy will be 60,000 euros gross in the 2019 financial year, setting the amount of the aid according to the economic level, taking into account the per capita income of each of the members of the family unit.

The budget allocation of the Torrevieja City Council for the School Transportation Aid is 300,000 euros.
