Presented the 2nd edition of the International Festival of Social and Ecological Cinema of the Merditerranean that begins on September 22 with a gala at the Municipal Theater

A selection of 26 works will participate in the contest of the more than 450 presented in this edition from 20 different nationalities

The Councilor for Culture of the Torrevieja City Council, Antonio Quesada, presented this morning the second edition of the International Festival of Social and Ecological Cinema of the Mediterranean (FICSEM), together with the organizer of the event, Carlos Mures. The festival will take place between September 22 and 26, starting this edition with a gala at the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja, at 8:00 p.m.

In this second edition, more than 450 projects have been presented, from more than 20 countries, among which projects from the US, Africa and European countries such as France or Italy stand out. 13 of the works presented are in the animation genre, a fact that the organization values very positively. Of all the works presented, 26 have been chosen, all of them within the social and / or ecological theme. At the opening gala, which will take place at the Municipal Theater on September 22, at 8:00 p.m., the prizes will be awarded to the winning projects. A gala that will be attended by the edition's godmother, the film director Gracia Querejeta, as well as the actors Nacho Guerreros, Jonas Torres and Javier Bódalo.

The events will continue with screenings on September 23, 24 and 25 in the Globus screening room (c / Radio Murcia, 16) from 5:00 p.m., with a duration of an hour and a half. Admission is free, respecting the capacity and security measures of the COVID-19 protocols.

The festival will end on September 26 with the delivery of the "from here" awards and their screening at the IMF Cinemas in Torrevieja, starting at 8:00 p.m. An opportunity to showcase the talent of the area in a festival with international projection.

In the words of the Councilor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, “from Torrevieja we are very committed to the cinematographic genre, supporting all projects. Proof of this has been the recovery of Torrevieja Audiovisual and, now, we are starting with the second edition of this festival ”.

For its part, the organization wanted to thank the support shown by the "Joaquín Chapaprieta" Municipal Institute of Culture, as well as the Torrevieja City Council and the media that help this young festival continue to grow.
