The Councilor for Education of the Torrevieja City Council, Ricardo Recuero, together with the manager of AGAMED, Jorge Ballesta, the deputy manager of AGAMED, Gemma Cruz, and the head of the Mastral Project, Rubén Torregrosa, have presented the agreement of collaboration between the Department of Education, the joint venture of the integral water cycle in Torrevieja (AGAMED) and the Mastral Project.

This agreement is encompassed within the plan of the Department of Education "+ education" that aims to become an axis of transformation of the educational plan of the city and, among these actions that are going to be carried out, are those framed in the Agenda 2030, through sustainable management projects.

The 50/50 project is the water saving campaign, sustainability actions to make a responsible use of water in schools. This innovative program has begun with an audit of water consumption in all educational centers, and water bills will be delivered to all centers so that they are aware of the water they consume. At the end of the course, the savings will be reviewed. The council's commitment together with AGAMED is to reward those centers that have saved water through the sustainability policy, and 50% of the savings will be invested in improvements in the educational center.

Visits to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) will also begin by the city's educational centers, as a result of the agreement with AGAMED. The schoolchildren will visit the control building, where they will receive a presentation of the WWTP and a short talk about the rules and security measures to be adopted during the visit. They will continue through the exhibition hall and the laboratory, where they will receive an explanation of the processes they carry out, followed by a tour of the facilities, including the biological treatment area, secondary settling, tertiary treatment and disinfection. The deputy manager wanted to "encourage all children and young people to get to know the city's water treatment facilities."

Within this agreement are the educational actions that will be carried out in collaboration with the Mastral Project to implement classes, workshops, meteorology, astronomy and sustainable development activities in the classrooms. In addition, the head of the Mastral Project wanted to highlight that "those centers that so wish may install meteorological stations so that they also participate in the collection and collection of data." There will be a total of 26 activities related to meteorology, climatology, astronomy, or seismology, and also aspects of nature in collaboration with the Faunatura association.

Ricardo Recuero has announced for next March 12 the first Educational Congress "with the aim of transforming the city through educational leadership and that has the collaboration of AGAMED." As a result of the agreement, there are also the activities that they will develop together with the Ars Creatio association with talks, theater and workshops to encourage culture in all students.
