The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box and the manager of the Valencian Handball Federation, Miguel Ángel Valero, have presented this morning the day of "Handbol al carrer" that will be held this Sunday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Paseo Vista Alegre. An activity that is part of the actions that are being developed on the occasion of the celebration in Torrevieja of the XXV Women's Handball World Cup, the first to be held in Spain.

Four handball courts will be installed for this sporting and recreational activity. All the youngsters and children will play handball mini matches that will have professional refereeing, until 2:00 p.m. It will be an activity open to all audiences, and it will have a gaming area with specialized handball video games, "a commitment from the FBMCV to innovation", highlighted Miguel Ángel Valero. "The Palacio de los Deportes moves to the center of Torrevieja with this activity in which all the sports clubs of the city and educational centers have been invited to participate," said the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box.

Eduardo Dolón has congratulated the Department of Sports, the Valencian Handball Federation and the CBM Mare Nostrum Torrevieja who have launched this initiative in such an emblematic place for the city of Torrevieja as its Paseo Vista Alegre "being the first time which will be the setting for a handball activity ”, added the mayor.

For his part, the manager of the FBMCV has thanked the collaboration that both the Torrevieja City Council and the CBM Mare Nostrum Torrevieja have provided to the Federation in order to develop this promotional activity for the World Cup that has the support of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM), which will tour the Valencian Community from north to south to take handball out onto the streets and enjoy the outdoors. Furthermore, “it could not be another city that Torrevieja that hosts this historic event of our sport, it could not be another city that hosts the Guerreras. Because Torrevieja is handball, it has always been ”, were the words of Miguel Ángel Valero, manager of the Valencian Handball Federation.
