The CQ Torrevieja Amateur Radio Association signs a collaboration agreement with Agamed to give visibility to the need for water in the world

The Cultural Association of Radio Amateurs CQ Torrevieja has signed a collaboration agreement with AGAMED to give visibility to the global need for water. In the agreement, which has been developing for five years, the Torrevieja City Council collaborates through the Municipal Institute of Culture "Joaquín Chapaprieta", and has a clear objective: to raise awareness about the global water crisis, through the waves, contacting people from all over the world.

One of the most outstanding activities is the start-up of the amateur radio contest "V Sustainable Water Management Diploma" that takes place in the week of March 21 to 26, World Water Day, whose motto is "Groundwater: Make visible the invisible”. As usual, the bands of 80, 40 and 20 meters will be worked on HF, 144.725 MHz on two meters and DMR on TG 21403.

In the 2021 edition there were 4,400 contacts despite facing the COVID problem, the contest being held from home (just like this year), the activity being very popular by contacting by DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) from the Alicante area ,   with countries in Europe, Asia and America. There were also many contacts on the local frequency. As for HF, participation was high, contacting stations from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Australia, Cuba, South Africa, Israel, Andorra and Uruguay from Europe, Asia and America, among others.
