The conservation and maintenance works of the pedestrian walkways located in CV-905 and Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas have been completed

The Councilor for Quality of Urban Services of the Torrevieja City Council, Sandra Sánchez, has reported the completion of the conservation works and the maintenance of the pedestrian walkways located on the CV-905 road (in front of the Habaneras Shopping Center) and on the Avenida Cortes Valencianas, at the height of the Mercadona supermarket in the Aguas Nuevas urbanization.

The contract carried out has been through a simplified open procedure, with the amount of the works offered by the successful bidder being 60,500 euros (VAT included).

Sandra Sánchez has indicated that the need to carry out these works has been derived from the poor state in which both infrastructures were found, mostly made up of metallic elements and, given the prevailing marine environment in Torrevieja, they presented a high degree of oxidation, as well as damage caused by acts of vandalism.

The treatments carried out have consisted, firstly, in the repair of damage to railings and pillar protection elements, followed by a thorough scraping of the rusty surfaces, subsequent cleaning, degreasing and preparation of supports for painting.

As for the painting works, they have consisted of a first primer treatment on metal surfaces with a dry film thickness of 50 microns. as a base coat, followed by application of an intermediate layer 120 microns thick and, finally, application of the final surface treatment consisting of two-component polyurethane paint 40 microns each.
