Yesterday, the Municipal Council of Tourism was held in the Plenary Hall of the City Council of Torrevieja, chaired by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón, where important present and future issues related to the tourist development of the city were discussed. city, and which had the support of all its members. The mayor thanked all the councilors for their participation and contributions to improve our first productive sector, being essential for the development of the present and future of Torrevieja.

Among the points discussed, it is worth highlighting the intervention of the Councilor for Tourism, Rosario Martínez, to give an account of the actions that are being carried out to adapt the condition of Tourist Municipality of Torrevieja to the new law, and that will be specified with the execution of the Municipal Strategic Plan that includes, among others, the Smart Tourism Destination Master Plan, as well as the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destinations.

PRESENTATION OF THE INTELLIGENT TOURIST DESTINATION MASTER PLAN (DTI)

Likewise, Miguel Ángel Catalá, from the Kalmas company, presented the Torrevieja Smart Tourist Destination Master Plan, realizing that it is already at the advanced level and that, later, we will be included in the National DTI Network.

The general lines of action of the Smart Tourist Destination Plan are developed around strategic axes of governance, sustainability, accessibility, connectivity, innovation and new technologies. The preparation of this work has included a self-diagnosis of the municipality and some of the lines of action defined in the Strategic Tourism Plan presented in January of last year 2021 have been included.

MUNICIPAL ACCESSIBILITY PLAN

Rubén Diego, representative of the company INFINIA, which has developed the project for the Municipal Plan for Accessibility of Urban Space, presented it to the Tourism Council, informing that it will be developed over the next 10 years, being an execution plan with High priority ( from 2022 to 2026), Medium (from 2027 to 2029), and Low (from 2030 to 2032).
