The San Emigdio festivities return to their usual programming from August 4 to 7

The Parque de las Naciones will be the scene of the program of events that will take place from August 4 to 7, on the occasion of the festivities in honor of San Emigdio, co-patron of Torrevieja and protector against earthquakes. The Councilor for Fiestas, Concha Sala, and the president of the Plaza del Calvario Association, Antonio Aniorte, wanted to highlight the return to normality in the development of all activities, after these festivities have been restricted for the last two years.

The aforementioned association, sponsored by the Torrevieja City Council, has organized a complete program that will begin on August 4 with the inauguration of the "Barraca Popular" at 9:00 p.m., followed by the performance of the "Soul Dance" of Torrevieja, a great raffle of gifts and the performance of a musical group.

On Friday, August 5, the events will also begin at 9:00 p.m., with a prize draw and a musical group performance, while on Saturday, August 6, at 7:00 p.m., there will be an entertainment event children and a snack will be offered free of charge to all the children attending. Then there will be a new prize draw and a new musical performance.

Already on Sunday, August 7, at 8:00 p.m., in the Hermitage of San Emigdio, located inside the Parque de las Naciones and also around it, a Eucharist will be celebrated in honor of the co-patron of Torrevieja, proceeding to then to carry out a solemn procession with the image of the saint accompanied by the band of the Musical Society "Ciudad de Torrevieja - Los Salerosos". The route will run through Calle San Policarpo, Bilbao, Santísima Trinidad, Barrio Molinos, Plaza del Calvario, Calle San Emigdio, José Hurtado Romero "El Felisia" and, again, to Calle San Policarpo to return to the Ermita del Parque de las Nations. After the procession, a fireworks display will be set off with which these popular festivities will end.
