The Councilor for Police, Mobility and Traffic of the Torrevieja City Council, Federico Alarcón, together with the Local Police Inspector, Óscar Cartón, and delegate in Alicante of the company awarded the contract, Óscar Zarza, has presented the Action Program for the repainting of the horizontal road markings of the urban area and urbanizations of Torrevieja.
Federico Alarcón has highlighted that it is a very important contract that will allow pedestrian crossings, prohibited parking areas, to expand new parking areas for vehicles and motorcycles, etc. throughout the municipality of Torrevieja. Also, in addition to being a service that is going to be launched for the first time in the City Council, since until now the painting and repainting of the road markings had been carried out with municipal resources.
The Police Inspector, Óscar Cartón, has reported that this week the repainting work has already begun on the Turrets, and next week the painting and repainting of all the areas surrounding the city's schools will be carried out, so that are in perfect condition at the beginning of the school year.
Cartón has indicated that for the execution of this Action Program, the municipality of Torrevieja has been divided into several zoned sectors, anticipating that the painting and repainting of each of them will last approximately one month, so it is expected that in a year it will be the whole city already completed.
Federico Alarcón recalled that the award of the contract is for 4 years (2+2), worth 450,000 euros per year, which represents a global amount of 1,800,000 euros (VAT included), which implies the annual repainting of all the municipal term of Torrevieja. The winning company has been imesAPI SA, which will provide the service with two teams, four electric vehicles, will also have a 24-hour checkpoint, emergency assistance in less than an hour, in addition to carrying out inventories of all the vertical signs of the city and reports and studies of reorganization of parking lots in case some of them have to go from line to battery and vice versa.
Finally, the mayor of Police, Mobility and Traffic has informed that the service is carried out from Sunday to Thursday, at night, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
