The DesignEuropa Awards, convened by the European Union Intellectual Property Office, EUIPO, commemorate excellence in design and design management among registered community design (RCD) holders, whether individual or small rights holders. or large companies.
Organized every two years by the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) . The Awards consist of two categories open for applications and nominations: Small and Emerging Businesses and Industry Sector. There is also a category of Career Achievement awards, reserved for those designers with an important body of work, developed throughout a career, and who have had a significant impact on the design profession.
Categories:
- Industrial Award: This category is reserved for Community designs of companies that have more than 50 employees and a turnover/balance sheet of more than EUR 10 million.
- Small and Emerging Businesses Award: This category is reserved for Community designs from companies that meet one of the following conditions: have less than 50 employees and a turnover/balance sheet of less than EUR 10 million. They are companies created after January 2016, whatever their size.
- Professional career award: This category is reserved for designers with a considerable body of works of aesthetic value, created in the course of their professional career, which have had a demonstrable impact on the market. Nominees in this category must currently use or have used the Community design system during their professional career.
