The new provisional classroom center of the Colegio Inmaculada opens its doors

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, and the director of the school, Eva María Atienza, visited the new CEIP Inmaculada provisional classroom center this morning.

The new center has a dining room, library, computer room, and multipurpose spaces, currently with 520 students, which will be expanded in the near future to 650 students. A public school that is line 2, which has gone from prefabricated classrooms to line 3, since one of the lines belongs to the next school center number 14, to thus cover the needs of school places in the city.

It should be noted that during the Christmas holidays, the transfer and installation of furniture for the classrooms and various areas of the center have been carried out, as well as the necessary works and not covered by the Ministry of Education such as ramps, ground floor classrooms, water connections, flooring, etc. The investment made by the Torrevieja City Council in various contracts to undertake these works has amounted to 284,000 euros.

Likewise, the mayor has announced that in February or March of this year 2023 the demolition works of the old Inmaculada school could begin, which have already been awarded by the Department of Education.
