The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Torrevieja City Councilor for Tourism, Rosario Martínez, and the head of Costa Blanca Tours, Adrián Canales, have presented the guided tours and the gastronomic demonstration of the municipality of Torrevieja at FITUR.

This new culinary demonstration experience with gourmet tasting offered by Las Salinas, in collaboration with the Torrevieja City Council, has been nominated for the CreaTurisme awards of the Generalitat in the "Best rural natural Mediterranean experience" category.

A route that reflects the true cultural and gastronomic origin of the city of Torrevieja: salt and sea, salt and blue fish, whose objective is to offer the visitor a different vision of our natural heritage, thus separating itself from the traditional "sun and beach" tourism. and supporting not only the deseasonalization of the sector but also addressing a tourist with greater concerns.

In this experience, the main resources of our environment are valued: nature, gastronomy and culture. A route where the tourist will put their five senses into play in a unique environment of pure Mediterranean essence.

Over the years, salted sardines have become very popular on the Mediterranean coast and, especially, in Torrevieja: salted sardines, viso and bonito, with the particularity that the same production techniques are still used.

In this new experience we will begin with a private visit to the salt industry, where we will learn about its millennial history. We will learn to differentiate the different types of salt that we can obtain from the natural park and we will focus on the gastronomic uses of this white gold while we enjoy impressive views of the Laguna Rosa, often populated with flamingos.

Next, a master craftsman will teach us the traditional technique of salting, preparing different types of salting on site that we will taste throughout the experience.

In line with all this, the guide will show us certain curiosities such as the cultivation of grapes in such a peculiar environment and the limited production of a wine that we can taste together with salting.

The experience ends with the sunset behind the pink lagoon, offering the visitor the chance to immortalize that moment in a magnificent tourist postcard.
