A total of 57 companies from 23 Spanish provinces have participated in this third edition, more than doubling the number of participants compared to the previous year

The awards ceremony will be held at the Municipal Theater on Monday, March 27, coinciding with World Theater Day, where in addition to the awards ceremony, the 2023 Theater manifesto will be read.
The III National Amateur Theater Contest "Raúl Ferrández", which will be held between March 21 and 25 at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, at 8:30 p.m. (free admission until full capacity) has announced the groups selected for this edition, having presented a total of 57 companies from all over Spain, more than doubling the number of participants compared to the previous year.
The proposals have come from 23 Spanish provinces, from La Rioja, Badajoz, Pontevedra, Toledo, Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Huesca, Zaragoza, Teruel, Zamora, Burgos, Palencia, Lleida, Barcelona, Murcia, Castellón, Valencia, Alicante, Madrid, Seville, Cádiz, Córdoba and Almería. A highly significant growth, mainly due to the improvements in the conditions of the bases, which the "Joaquín Chapaprieta" Municipal Institute of Culture has carried out this last year so that, in this way, the "Raúl Ferrández" Amateur Theater Contest has a greater relevance throughout the national scene.
Among all the proposals presented, the following were selected:
- On Tuesday, March 21, the company Grupo de Teatro Tejuba, from Las Torres de Cotilla (Murcia), will perform with the show “El Eunuco”.
- On Wednesday, March 22 , the company Teatro RyD – Doble R Teatro, from Alicante, will perform with the show “Las Cuatro Torres”.
- On Thursday, March 23 , the company Un Reino por un Teatro, from Madrid, will perform with the show “When do we die to the president?”.
- On Friday, March 24, the company Homero Teatro, from Seville, will perform with the show “La Clase Muerta”.
- On Saturday, March 25, the company Agrupación Teatro de Sabiñánigo (Huesca) will perform with the show “Knock, Knock”.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Municipal Theater on Monday, March 27, at 8:00 p.m., coinciding with World Theater Day, where in addition to the awards ceremony, the 2023 Theater manifesto will be read.
