The UMH Science Park and the Torrevieja City Council present the prizes for the first edition of the Torrevieja Emprende Program

The Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH) of Elche and the Torrevieja City Council delivered yesterday, April 25, the awards of the first edition of the Torrevieja Emprende program. As proposals with the greatest potential and/or innovative character in Torrevieja or the region, the initiatives Strato Sismic and CasaTour.Tech received an economic endowment of 2,000 euros and 1,250 euros, respectively. For its part, Somos Atulaa Comunidad Creativa received a prize of 1,250 euros, for being considered the proposal with the greatest impact in any of the sectors of strategic interest to the municipality.

The event, held at the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja (RCNT), was attended by the Councilor for Education, Innovation and Modernization of the Torrevieja City Council, Ricardo Recuero; and the Education Coordinator of the same department, Juan José Fernández Nova.

Strato Sismic is an environmental consultancy launched by Antonio Vicente, which is specialized in the prevention of natural risks and emergency management; For its part, CasaTour.Tech consists of a complete virtual reality property visualization system created by Jose Mba and José María Cuesta. Finally, Somos Atulaa Comunidad Creativa is an initiative promoted by Verónica Aguilar that aims to create entertainment spaces to share and practice the crochet technique in representative places of the local hospitality industry.

The first call for Torrevieja Emprende had a total of 23 entrepreneurs with 17 business initiatives. Finally, six proposals were presented to the jury. Both the winners and the finalists have received an extraordinary award that consists of a free year as associates of JOVEMPA Vega Baja.

Torrevieja Emprende arises as part of the collaboration established between the UMH and the Torrevieja City Council for the start-up of a university headquarters in this town.

Through an agreement, both entities agreed to develop different joint actions, including an entrepreneurship program. Thus, Torrevieja Emprende is part of Emprende UMH, an initiative of the Miguel Hernández University, managed by its Science Park, which seeks to help the municipalities and public institutions of the province in their commitment to entrepreneurship and business growth.
