European Innovative Recruitment Awards 2023

The new European Innovation Agenda highlights the importance of innovative procurement for the modernization of the public sector, as well as for guaranteeing Europe's strategic autonomy and strengthening Europe's industrial competitiveness worldwide.

The European Innovative Procurement Awards aim to recognize public and private buyers, natural persons and legal entities who support these practices across Europe in their efforts to promote and stimulate innovative procurement and the innovative ways in which solutions are procured.

In 2023, the European Innovative Recruitment Awards have two categories:

• Innovative recruitment initiative category: to reward actions, medium and long-term strategies, and action plans that trigger different innovative recruitment practices and sustainable solutions and practices.
• "Green energy transition" category to meet societal challenges: to reward innovative procurement practices aimed at supporting the green energy transition. Each category will reward the winner with EUR 75,000, second place with EUR 50,000 and third place with EUR 25,000.

Participants can only apply to one of the two categories with the same application and set of activities.

The contest is open to any public and private buyer, natural person and legal entities that support these practices located in one of the EU Member States or countries associated with Horizon Europe.

Eligibility criteria include that the awarded procurement practice must have taken place in a Horizon Europe Member State or Associated Country and must relate to completed or ongoing initiatives started after 1 January 2018.

Evaluation criteria include transformation, adoption, collaboration, and social impact of innovative hiring practices.

The application submission deadline is August 17, 2023 at 17:00 CET. The evaluation will take place between August and December 2023, with the results announced in March 2024.
