A weekend full of music with flamenco, chirigotas and candlelight in Torrevieja

On Friday, August 18, at 8:00 p.m., the I Festival “Solera, Salero y Compás” will premiere at the Municipal Theater, organized by the Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti” association. This first edition of the festival will make us fly to Andalusia just by seeing, listening and feeling the beauty of flamenco singing and dancing. It will feature Ubaldo Valverde, a finalist at the 2023 Salinas de Oro Festival, as the voice of the copla, he will be accompanied on percussion and piano by Jesús Fernández, and on guitar by Félix Amador. In addition, Iván Chaskio will perform as the flamenco voice and Mariano Santiago and Adriana Nuevo will accompany him on the dance.

On Saturday, August 19, at 9:00 p.m., the 5th Carnival Festival "Ciudad de Torrevieja - Costa Blanca" will begin, in which they will have four groups and the best chirigotas. In the municipal theater you can enjoy the only event that takes place in the province of Alicante where attendees will have the opportunity to live a little piece of the genuine official contest of carnival groups of Cádiz.

Martínez Ares, the chirigota Fermín y Antoñito, and Manolín Santander, bring their art, self-confidence and salt shaker to the city of salt, displayed in the latest edition of the Cádiz carnival. Undoubtedly, a unique show that the local chirigota "los Sangochaos" has prepared for lovers of this genre, which every day has more followers and which is celebrating its fifth edition.

Once again, the Candlelight show returns to the municipal theater on Sunday, August 20, in two sessions. The first will take place at 7:30 p.m. with the best of Hans Zimmer. The popular composer of the soundtracks for Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, among others. A tribute that will move the public remembering these favorite movies by all. At 9:30 p.m., it will be time for the Tribute to Queen. A delight for all lovers of this mythical English group, where you can hear their greatest hits performed by the Salzillo string quartet.
