Agamed rewards young talent with scholarships in the STEAM field for the 2023-2024 academic year

The application period ends on October 31, and they are intended for first-year university degree students registered in Torrevieja and who require financial aid.

The aid includes 100% of the annual tuition fee and its fees, which does not cover the scholarship requested from the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, and related direct expenses up to 1,500 euros per course.

Aguas del Arco Mediterráneo (AGAMED) and the Torrevieja City Council launch the 'Young Talent Scholarship' Program for the 2023-2024 academic year, aimed at young people with high educational performance who may need financial support to access university. An initiative that aims to promote university training development in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, in connection with the Arts and Humanities (STEAM).

The 'Young Talents Scholarship' will cover 100% of the annual tuition fee and fees that the scholarship requested from the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training does not cover. In addition, this aid will cover up to 1,500 euros per course of related direct expenses. Parallel to this, the student who opts for the scholarship will have pedagogical and psychosocial support, and three online group sessions for follow-up.

Aid can be requested until October 31, 2023, by downloading a form and sending it completed, along with all the required documentation to the email becasjovenestalentos@agamed.es . The complete bases and download of the form are available on the AGAMED website www.agamed.es .

To be eligible for this aid it will be necessary to be a student, registered and resident in Torrevieja, in the first year of a university degree in the STEAM field at the University of Alicante (UA), Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and at the National University of Distance Education (UNED), whose average grade will be greater than 8.5 out of 10.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has highlighted the importance of this aid to young students who strive to pursue their higher education and whose families do not have the necessary financial resources to do so. Scholarships that, as their name indicates, reward young talent from Torrevieja.

For her part, Gemma Cruz, deputy manager of AGAMED, stated that “this type of scholarship allows young people from Torrevieja to stimulate talent for STEM vocations and give them an opportunity to access higher education. Promoting the university training development of young people with high academic performance, but with a complex economic environment that can make it difficult for them, is the main objective of AGAMED and the 'Young Talents Scholarship'.
