Josefa Carmona Melgarejo, from Floristería Carmina, awarded the "Mujer 2024" award

The presentation of this recognition will take place on Wednesday, March 8, at 8:00 p.m., at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, at the Gala held on the occasion of International Women's Day.

In a meeting held this Friday morning at the Torrevieja City Hall, chaired by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón, and with the participation of Óscar Urtasun, councilor for Social Welfare, Inmaculada Montesinos, councilor for Equality, the previous winners of this award, M.ª Sol Cos, Mamen Mateo Boch, Amparo Boj and Josefina Nieto, and for the Department of Social Welfare and Equality, Esther Yáñez, Agent
of Equality, and Cristina López, advisor to the council, acting as Secretary, Isabel
García Jiménez, the MUJER 2024 awards were chosen on the occasion of the celebration on March 8 of “International Women's Day”. Having read all the proposals received by the Departments of Social Welfare and Equality, it has been unanimously decided:

-Award the WOMEN AWARD 2024 to Josefa Carmona Melgarejo, in recognition of
his long personal and professional career, being a very loved and appreciated person
who, to this day, continues with her daughter to run the business, “Floristería Carmina”.
This award is awarded in recognition of an entire life, personal and professional career of a local woman, valuing her personal, professional effort, social vocation or her impact on the life of our municipality.

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, March 8, at 8:00 p.m., at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, at the Gala to be held on the occasion of International Women's Day, with free admission until full the capacity.
