The General Director of Ports of the Generalitat visits the works of the port of Torrevieja

The mayor has reported that once the concession is received from the Department, the project could be put out to tender and the works that the City Council must execute could be awarded, which could begin during the last quarter of this year 2024.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the general director of Coasts, Ports and Airports of the Generalitat, Vicente Martínez Mus, and the concessionaire of the port's leisure area, Enrique Riquelme, visited the works of the port of Torrevieja.

Previously, they held a working meeting with the new technical team of the Department headed by Vicente Martínez, in which they continued to advance in the development of this important infrastructure that will completely change the appearance of the entire existing area, both in the port as in its surroundings.

Both the mayor and the general director of Ports have announced that the concession that the Generalitat has to grant to the Torrevieja City Council is in process for the authorization of the execution works that the Torrevieja council will have to undertake, and that it includes the entire urban planning solution that It covers the area of Paseo de La Libertad and the areas adjacent to it.

The mayor has reported that once the City Council receives the concession from the Ministry, the project could be put out to tender and the execution works awarded, which could begin during the last quarter of this year 2024.

Likewise, it is worth highlighting the good pace of the work being carried out for the construction of the leisure area and its underground parking with almost 700 parking spaces. A parking lot that, as announced by the concessionaire company, is expected to come into operation before next summer of 2024, while the completion of the leisure center could be in the month of December of this year.
