The City Council awards the contracting of the provisional access works to the port of Torrevieja

Yesterday, the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the councilor responsible for Markets, Antonio Vidal, met in the plenary hall of the City Council with the merchants of Paseo de La Libertad, the so-called "hippies", the responsible for APYMECO, the Association of Hospitality Companies of Torrevieja and Comarca, and residents of the area, to inform them that the preliminary work of topography and preparation of the land has already begun.
Eduardo Dolón has reported that starting next Monday these access works to the port of Torrevieja will begin, with the execution of the provisional roundabout located between Plaza Waldo Calero, María Parodi Street and Plaza Castelar, which will give access to the new commercial area and which will have an external diameter of 26 meters, two internal circulation lanes 3.5 meters wide and an internal ring of 9 meters in diameter, as well as an independent access lane. In addition, 16 9-meter-high staffs will be installed for the public lighting luminaires both in the roundabout and at the access to the port, and the corresponding vertical indicative signage. Work that will begin with the demolition of part of the fence that currently separates the Paseo de La Libertad from the port, at the height of the Plaza de Waldo Calero.
Finally, the mayor has announced that the stormwater works that AGAMED is carrying out in the port of Torrevieja, and which has a budget of almost 4 million euros, will be interrupted during the summer season, so that the La promenade Libertad can remain open throughout the summer, with these stormwater works resuming at the beginning of September.
