In this third edition, 75 scholarships will be awarded to students of Elementary Education from the “Francisco Casanovas” Professional Conservatory of Music in Torrevieja. The scholarship will cover the tuition fee for the 2024/2025 academic year and will provide a batch of books for learning the subject. of Musical Language, belonging to the book bank of the 3MAP Musical Association

The Councilor for Culture of the Torrevieja City Council, Antonio Quesada, together with the Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, the artistic director of the 3MAP Musical Association and person in charge of the project, María Ortigosa, the deputy manager of AGAMED, Gemma Cruz, and the nephews of maestro Ricardo Lafuente, Francisco and Ricardo, presented this morning the “RICARDO LAFUENTE AGUADO” MUSICAL TALENT DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIPS for children and young people, which has a budget of 15,000 euros.

A total of 75 scholarships will be available in this second call for the 2024/2025 school year, covering the entire tuition fee and offering a batch of books for the study of Musical Language. The books will be granted on loan with the objective of creating the “Ricardo Lafuente Aguado” book bank, thus continuing to support children and young people interested in learning music.

The deadlines to request these aid begin today, Tuesday, May 21, and will be extended until July 31. The resolution will take place between August 5 and 9, with the award of the scholarships published on August 16. The evaluation commission for the MUSICAL TALENT DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIPS will be made up of representatives of the 3MAP Musical Association, the family of Maestro Ricardo Lafuente, a representative of the School Council of the “Francisco Casanovas” Professional Conservatory of Music and a tax advisor.

María Ortigosa explained that the award criteria will include the number of siblings of the applicant studying at the Conservatory, if it is a large and/or single-parent family, if the student has a disability greater than 33%, and economic criteria will also be considered. .

The MUSICAL TALENT DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIPS have the support of the Departments of Education and Culture, as well as the joint company AGAMED, Cultura Torrevieja, Fundación La Caixa and Toloal Ingeniería de Seguridad.

The 3MAP Musical Association aims to promote the work of Maestro Ricardo Lafuente Aguado. In 2021, the Association organized two concerts, one of them at the 67th International Habaneras and Polyphony Competition held in July.

In 2023 they presented the play Apollo and the mystery of music where a story of travel, search and reunion is told, highlighting the value of friendship and the unique charm of music through the figure of Maestro Ricardo Lafuente .

In 2024, the Association has been responsible for organizing the Ricardo Lafuente Memorial with the title Symphonic Boleros and Songs sponsored by the Municipal Board of Habaneras and Polifonía.
