Alejandro Morer, who took up his new position this morning, has held the position of Superintendent of the Local Police until now, being in charge in recent years of the Economic and Contracting Area of the Police.
The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved the appointment of Alejandro Morer Bielsa as General Director of the Local Police of Torrevieja. Alejandro Morer, who took up his new post this morning, has until now served as Superintendent of the Local Police, being in charge in recent years of the Economic and Contracting Area of the Local Police. A job that he performs as the main person in charge of the operational area of the Police, such as the supervision of services (processing and transfer of all reports carried out in this municipal department), preparation and planning of events (all festivals, concerts, cultural parades, etc.) and proposal of extraordinary services for police officers.
It should be noted that the uniqueness of this position requires that the technical capacity required by the post be combined with higher levels of merit and professionalism demonstrated in the civil service record. For this reason, it was proposed that the vacant position of Director General of Police be filled by Alejandro Morer Bielsa, who has held the position of Police Superintendent from 1998 to the present day, that is, 27 years.
In addition, he held the position of Head of the Local Police Force from 1998 to 2010, when the position of Chief Superintendent was filled - later called Commissioner in accordance with article 37 of Law 17/2017, of December 13, on the coordination of local police forces in the Valencian Community - and from that moment on he occupied the second position in the command scale of the Torrevieja Local Police, replacing the Commissioner in cases of absence or vacation periods.
