Brazilian students and teachers visit Torrevieja as a result of a Brazil-Spain intercultural meeting open to the public.

The University of Alicante Campus in Torrevieja, in collaboration with the Torrevieja City Council's Department of Tourism and the Habaneras Municipal Trust, has organized a series of activities as part of the Brazil-Spain intercultural exchange program, with Torrevieja as the meeting point. Most of these activities are open to the public.
Fourteen Brazilian students and two teachers have been staying in Torrevieja since last Tuesday and until July 25. They come from the Colégio Santo Antônio in Belo Horizonte, Brazil , the Brazilian school with the highest university entrance rating.
The agenda of activities organized by the UA Headquarters in Torrevieja in collaboration with the Brazilian educational center and its coordinator, Juan Francisco Álvarez Barranco, began on Thursday with a visit to the Torrevieja Salt Flats, thanks to the participation of the Torrevieja City Council's Department of Tourism.
The activities open to the general public are:
On Monday the 21st, at 6:00 PM, the talk "Dangers of the Similarities between Spanish and Portuguese: Real Stories" will be given by Brazilian educator Juan Francisco Álvarez Barranco. And at 7:00 PM, the workshop "Torrevieja in a Click: Discover Local Culture Through Your Camera/Mobile Phone" will be taught by Laura Pérez Aguirre.
On Tuesday, July 22, at 6:00 PM, Fran Montesinos will give a talk on "Godhoods. Holy Week and Popular Religiosity as Elements of Cultural Cohesion among Ibero-American Countries." Following this, at 7:00 PM, Brazilian professor Rejane Debbie Fernández Loureiro de Paiva will give a talk on "The Cultural Identity of the State of Minas Gerais: Brazil-Spain Exchanges."
On Thursday the 24th, at 6:00 p.m., Manuel Martínez Sirvent will begin the talk "Education and Resilience" and at 7:30 p.m., at the Mery Dance Academy center, the workshop "Flamenco: Cultural Expression and Spanish Identity" will be held by Marta Miguel Gallardo.
Finally, on Friday, July 25, between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m., Brazilian professor Juan Francisco Álvarez Barranco will close the program with the talk "Basic Concepts for Understanding Economics Courses."
All of these activities will take place or begin in the UA classroom in Torrevieja, located in the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, and are open to the public until capacity is reached. Pre-registration is required by completing this form .
The Brazilian educational center has also arranged visits to various nearby municipalities such as Cartagena and Alicante. Thus, on Wednesday the 23rd, they will be officially received by Rosa María Martínez Espinosa, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Development Cooperation at the University of Alicante. They will then take a guided tour of the university campus.
In addition, students and teachers will have the opportunity to attend the 71st International Habanera and Polyphony Competition on Wednesday, July 23.
