The Councilor for Festivities of the Torrevieja City Council, Concha Sala, the president of the cultural association "Carnaval de Torrevieja", Francisco Pizana, and the author of the poster, Hermes Boj, have presented this morning the Carnival of Torrevieja 2022, which is scheduled to take place from February 4 to March 6.

The Torrevieja carnival, which was declared of Autonomous Tourist Interest last May, will return to the streets of Torrevieja next year after a stoppage during this 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The mayor of Fiestas has wanted to encourage all the comparsas and carnivals to be part of this multi-colored festival that runs through the streets of Torrevieja during the month of February. In the words of the president of the association "this is the starting gun for carnival 2022, which we hope we can do with all normality, since everything is already prepared for its celebration."
The poster is a work by the Torrevieja cartoonist Hermes Boj, who wanted to capture "all the light and color possible, starting from the floats of the Infantile and Major queens of Torrevieja". The 2020 carnival queens are represented on the poster, born from the book of which the Children's Queen costume was composed, Triana Marín, who appears caricatured together with Brenda Lorenzo, 2020 Carnival Queen. As Pizana has indicated “the poster It breaks with the posters previously presented, something that we were looking for from the association. We wanted something new and different to present the Carnival of Torrevieja 2022 ”.
In addition, Pizana has announced that the bases for the national contest of comparsas and chirigotas "Ciudad de Torrevieja 2022", the XII national contest of Drag Queen "Ciudad de Torrevieja 2022 ”, the Torrevieja Carnival contest parade and the 2022 foreign troupes contest.
