More than a hundred children and young people took part in the audition tests at the Municipal Choral School

From 9:30 a.m. there were already numerous applicants, accompanied by their parents, at the door of the Palacio de la Música, eager to pass these simple entrance exams. We must highlight the high number of male children and young people, as well as those interested in joining our choral school from other neighboring towns.

Those selected in these auditions are summoned for Saturday, February 12, the date on which classes will begin at the long-awaited recovered Municipal Choral School.

After the disappearance in the last legislature of the Choral School, the City Council has restarted it thanks to the agreement signed between AGAMED and the Department of Education, and which has the contribution of 14,192 euros from the joint venture.

The objective of this musical-pedagogical project is to promote choral singing and the habanera in the children of our city, as one of the most deeply rooted and authentic expressions of Torrevieja. At the school, students receive solid musical training focused on choral singing, with sessions on vocal technique and musical language.

The structure of the Municipal Choral School has three groups:

-Minuet A: from 4 to 7 years. Saturday mornings.

-Children's Choir (Rondó): from 7 to 12 years old. Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings.

-Youth Choir (Symphony): from 12 years old. Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings.

The teaching staff will be composed of:

-Director (management) and professor of vocal technique. Pilar Paez.

-Teacher and director of the children's and youth choirs. Selena Cancino.

-Professor of vocal technique and secretary. Concepcion Perez.

-Musical language teacher and instructor. Núria Maddaloni.

-Monitor. Maria Angeles German.
