Aladdin, a brilliant musical, is the perfect combination between the magic of the story and the spectacular nature of the musical with the charm of the adventures of “One Thousand and One Nights”, with its luxurious palaces and bustling bazaars…
A staging that will transport the public to the distant Middle East. Everything impregnated and invaded by that aroma of a mystical and exuberant story. A show with the purest musical language that will surprise the public with unexpected numbers.
An incredible scenographic proposal arrives at the Municipal Theater, with more than 50 costumes and 250 accessories, we can see on stage costumes with great detail such as those of Princess Jasmine, the Sultan, the Vizier, Aladdin dressed as a prince or even the Genie who He will dress up as a Gala for some numbers.
Throughout the performance, the spectator will experience long journeys through the musical numbers: life in the palace, the bustle of the bazaar, the number of the magical costumes that the Genie makes dance for Aladdin, the love ballad about the carpet... But above all, the numbers starring the genie stand out, since this character allows us to create a show of sequins, lights and tap dancing in the purest Broadway style.
"Aladín, a brilliant musical" was the first premiere of Trencadís Produccions, in 2013 no less, and it became a talisman for the production company. So much so that it has been performed uninterruptedly to this day, with nearly 400 performances behind it. And the thing is, those from Trencadís have raised the curtain on their particular bazaar in theaters throughout the national territory, such as the Teatro Romea in Murcia, the Calderón in Valladolid, the Alkázar in Madrid, the Olympia in Valencia or the Campos Elíseos in Bilbao. A career that has not been without recognition.
It has been awarded the awards for Best Children's Musical and Best New Actress (Erika Bleda) at the 2015 Musical Theater Awards. And, on the other hand, at the Broadway World Spain of the same season, it won the awards for Best Costume Design ( Joan Miquel Reig), Best Set Design (Luis Crespo), Best Choreography (Pachi G. Fenollar), Best Lead Actress (Erika Bleda) and Best Lighting (Juanjo Llorens).
A classic from “The Thousand and One Nights” that assures us the fun of the chases through the alleys of the bazaar, the sumptuousness of the Great Sultan's palace, the magic of the Genie, the mystery of the Cave of Wonders, the charm of that wonderful flight among the stars...In short, it seems that "Aladdin, a brilliant musical" has all the ingredients to draw applause and smiles from young and old alike.
The strong commitment that Cultura Torrevieja is making this season for the best musicals will be complemented with other spectacular staging such as “Peter, the musical” and “The Little Mermaid”.
