The City Council highlights the ongoing investment in beaches, the improvement of services and sustainability as strategic pillars of the tourism model

Environmental educators visited the festival areas, encouraging residents to recycle glass to meet the recycling challenge set by Ecovidrio. The residents of Torrevieja recycled a total of 3,153,867 kilograms of glass containers. This means that each resident recycled an average of 31.4 kilograms of glass. Torrevieja has an average of 100 inhabitants per container, and currently has a total of 996 glass recycling containers installed throughout the municipality.

This is a comprehensive service that guarantees the cleaning, maintenance and repair of the fixed wooden toilets and the new self-cleaning toilets installed throughout busy areas of the municipality.

Torrevieja City Council's Councilor for Beaches, Antonio Vidal, reports that the Assisted Bathing Service will remain in operation until September 14th, both in the morning (10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and in the afternoon (3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.).

This is a comprehensive service that guarantees the cleaning, maintenance and repair of the fixed wooden toilets and the new self-cleaning toilets installed along busy areas of the municipality. The Councilor for Beaches, Antonio Vidal, highlights the important reinforcement of public services on the coast with a more comprehensive, modern contract tailored to the real needs of Torrevieja.

The duration of the contract will be four years plus a possible one-year extension, with the base tender budget being 1,198,143 euros (VAT included).

In addition, the beaches of Torrevieja have received recognition from the Jury for the Special Mention in “Environmental Education”

Aimed at citizens, SMEs and groups potentially interested in the energy transition, including property managers, real estate developers, associations or entities representing women, older people and young people, and citizens in general. Thanks to this initiative, the citizens of Torrevieja will be able to learn about the importance of recycling glass and how much each individual contributes with this simple gesture.
