This Friday morning, the Torrevieja City Council (CdT) awarded the 2024 Comprehensive Destination Tourism Quality System (SICTED) distinctions in recognition of the efforts and commitment to the quality of our city's tourism services.

The Councilor for Festivals of the Torrevieja City Council, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, reports that everything is already prepared for the Tribute to the Torrevieja May Fair, which will be held from May 9 to 12, in the Parque de la Estación.

Next Friday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m., the “Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Tourism” conference will be held at the CdT in Torrevieja, with the aim of raising awareness of the challenges posed by adequate data management and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques in the tourism field.

The overall action will involve an estimated municipal investment of one million euros, and will involve the adaptation and landscaping of this entire space for the enjoyment of citizens.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón and the mayor of Benejúzar, Vicente Cases, together with the Councilor for Tourism of Torrevieja, Rosario Martínez and councilors for Tourism from the municipalities of Los Montesinos, Orihuela and Benejúzar, have presented the Camino de Santiago at FITUR Salt. A route that arises from the desire to extend the Camino de Santiago del Sureste towards the Mediterranean Sea. So the Iberian Peninsula is crossed diagonally from the Mediterranean to Santiago de Compostela and the Atlantic Ocean in Finisterre.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the Councilor for Tourism, Rosario Martínez and the co-founder of Oxytours, Fran Lucha, have presented the Guided Hiking and Environmental Education activities in our municipality, which includes guided routes in the Natural Park of the La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons and the Molino del Agua Municipal Natural Park, together with educational and environmental information activities in Primary schools, as well as in the coves and beaches of Torrevieja.

The Councilor for Festivals, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, reports that the Consell has authorized the signing of a collaboration agreement between Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Torrevieja City Council to promote the festivals of relevant tourist interest that are celebrated in the city.
