The Councilor for Sports, Diana Box, reports that more than 300 boys and girls, aged between 2 to 16 years, have attended the municipal swimming courses offered by the Department of Sports of the Torrevieja City Council for the months of July and August.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has issued a municipal statement in which he informs that on Saturday, August 21, the 8th stage of the Cycling Tour of Spain will take place, whose itinerary runs through the main streets and avenues of the Torrevieja municipal term. For all these reasons, the roads and streets indicated in this Side will be cut off between 12:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. and between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., traffic and circulation being totally prohibited. parking on these streets and avenues in this period of time. The withdrawal of vehicles from the route will be carried out from 04:00 hours on August 21 and, given the importance that this sporting event has for Torrevieja, the maximum collaboration of all citizens is requested.

The Councilor for Sports of the Torrevieja City Council, Diana Box, together with the president of the Torrevieja Tennis Club, Igor Vinokurov, the director of the tournament, Humberto Zuleta, and the judge-referee of the tournament, David Pérez, have presented this morning the 43 edition of the “Ciudad de Torrevieja” Tennis Open, which will take place from July 31 to August 8 at the club's facilities in Los Balcones.

A sailing regatta that was born with the intention of remembering the figure of Gil Rebollo, a former councilman of the Torrevieja City Council and a person closely linked to the Marina Internacional Sports Port through sailing and sport fishing, two of his great passions. Eduardo Gil died in August 2020 and from this year it is intended to honor him with this regatta that will continue throughout the years.

The total amount approved is 350,000 euros for the subsidy of sports clubs and 20,800 euros for the subsidy of sporting events and activities

A solidarity tournament in which 61 teams and 620 players will participate, in male and female categories in Senior (+16), cadet, children and youngsters, as well as the APANEE Adapted Sports Club (CADA).
