The City Council highlights the ongoing investment in beaches, the improvement of services and sustainability as strategic pillars of the tourism model

Environmental educators visited the festival areas, encouraging residents to recycle glass to meet the recycling challenge set by Ecovidrio. The residents of Torrevieja recycled a total of 3,153,867 kilograms of glass containers. This means that each resident recycled an average of 31.4 kilograms of glass. Torrevieja has an average of 100 inhabitants per container, and currently has a total of 996 glass recycling containers installed throughout the municipality.

The application period will be open from tomorrow, August 5, to September 8, and the prizes reach 12,000 euros in total.

A total of 22 entrepreneurs with 15 business initiatives registered for this third call for Torrevieja Emprende.

Torrevieja City Council's Councilor for Beaches, Antonio Vidal, reports that the Assisted Bathing Service will remain in operation until September 14th, both in the morning (10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and in the afternoon (3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.).

This project has offered a complete training and employment experience to young people under 30 for 12 months, combining paid work with certified training in the administrative field.

This morning, Torrevieja City Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, presented the 2nd Educational Guidance Fair "Oriéntate," which will be held at the Torrevieja International Auditorium on April 1, 2, and 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The duration of the contract will be four years plus a possible one-year extension, with the base tender budget being 1,198,143 euros (VAT included).

Experts in the different disciplines will teach four programs starting next October after the inauguration of the new 2024-2025 academic year. The Open University is a teaching initiative resulting from the existing collaboration between the UNED and the Torrevieja City Council in terms of training.

Through the acronym “Occupation”, “Leadership” and “Accompaniment”, the OLA Program in Torrevieja has served 18 people, with a participant profile associated with that of a woman, between 31 and 45 years old.

In addition, the beaches of Torrevieja have received recognition from the Jury for the Special Mention in “Environmental Education”
