Torrevieja strengthens the care of its green areas with twice as many professionals and three times as many vehicles.
The City Council will create 90,000 square metres of new green areas over the next few years and plant more than 15,000 trees. The number of professionals assigned to the service will double, going from 59 to 113, while the number of vehicles and machinery will triple, from 25 to 68 units. The contract covers the maintenance of 362 public spaces, including parks, gardens, squares, sports areas and play areas, totaling more than 2 million square metres, which represents an increase of 800,000 square metres compared to the areas currently maintained, which amount to 1.2 million square metres.

The city of Torrevieja will join Earth Hour next Saturday, March 22nd, with the switching off of public lighting in five iconic squares: Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza Miguel Hernández, Plaza del Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen, Plaza de Oriente, and Plaza de Encarnación Puchol de La Mata. All lights in these squares will remain off from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
