The city currently has 113,453 registered inhabitants from 120 nationalities, reflecting its extraordinary demographic growth in recent years

Ukraine reinforces its position as the leading foreign nationality, followed by Russia, Colombia, and the United Kingdom. More than 55% of Torrevieja's population is between 30 and 69 years old, with a balance maintained between men and women. The international population has increased in the last year, rising from 55,390 to 59,205 residents, representing a considerable growth of 3,815 people.

Environmental educators visited the festival areas, encouraging residents to recycle glass to meet the recycling challenge set by Ecovidrio. The residents of Torrevieja recycled a total of 3,153,867 kilograms of glass containers. This means that each resident recycled an average of 31.4 kilograms of glass. This morning, Torrevieja City Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, presented the 2nd Educational Guidance Fair "Oriéntate," which will be held at the Torrevieja International Auditorium on April 1, 2, and 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, appointments will be made available to citizens for processing new registrations and changes of address, through the electronic headquarters of the Torrevieja City Council.

Experts in the different disciplines will teach four programs starting next October after the inauguration of the new 2024-2025 academic year. The Open University is a teaching initiative resulting from the existing collaboration between the UNED and the Torrevieja City Council in terms of training.

Through the acronym “Occupation”, “Leadership” and “Accompaniment”, the OLA Program in Torrevieja has served 18 people, with a participant profile associated with that of a woman, between 31 and 45 years old.

In addition, new interim officials have taken office to reinforce and also create new work areas within the City Council, especially in the Department of Social Welfare.
