The University of Alicante is offering the first microcredential in Russian and Ukrainian Translation and Interpretation in Torrevieja.
These are university studies, new in Torrevieja, aimed mainly at people with advanced knowledge of less widely spoken languages, preferably Russian and Ukrainian, who wish to acquire initial training in interpretation and translation. Torrevieja, with a registered population of over 110,000 inhabitants, has 49.74% of its inhabitants coming from 122 countries, with the Ukrainian (more than 10,000), Russian (more than 6,000) and British (more than 5,000) groups, in that order, occupying the top positions.

The University of Alicante (UA), as part of the events commemorating Torrevieja Pride 2025, held the talk "Between nits and Merlins: a tour of LGBTQ+ characters on television" yesterday afternoon, Sunday, July 6, at the Torrevieja Casino. It was given by Toni Maestre-Brotons, a professor at the UA.
