The city council is putting out to tender the renovation of the former Purísima kindergarten and its annex building, with an investment of more than 4.5 million euros.

The city council is putting out to tender the renovation of the former Purísima kindergarten and its annex building, with an investment of more than 4.5 million euros.
The building will soon house the new iHub Torretech, a technological innovation service whose objective is to promote entrepreneurship, young talent, startup incubation and local economic development. The new building will have a coworking area, work areas for digital nomads, training classrooms and spaces for workshops and meetings, as well as a hospitality and service area that will be located in the courtyard.

The execution project for the renovation of the former La Purísima kindergarten and the Francisco Vallejos choir building will be approved tomorrow in JGL.

The works include a photovoltaic installation on the building's roof, which will contribute to the complex's energy self-consumption, in line with the sustainability objectives set by the City Council.

Torrevieja will offer the first degree in Tourism Business Management from the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) in Elche.
The new building will have capacity for 430 students and 50 AGAMED workers, in two completely different spaces. The mayor has highlighted that the integration of the three universities in the University Headquarters of Torrevieja (UA, UMH and UNED) demonstrates that it is possible to collaborate together and open up to all of them to offer the best offer and services to the students of our city. It is expected that by the end of this year the entire building will be fully completed and during the first quarter of 2026, once it has been equipped, it will be opened.

Torrevieja strengthens the care of its green areas with twice as many professionals and three times as many vehicles.
The City Council will create 90,000 square metres of new green areas over the next few years and plant more than 15,000 trees. The number of professionals assigned to the service will double, going from 59 to 113, while the number of vehicles and machinery will triple, from 25 to 68 units. The contract covers the maintenance of 362 public spaces, including parks, gardens, squares, sports areas and play areas, totaling more than 2 million square metres, which represents an increase of 800,000 square metres compared to the areas currently maintained, which amount to 1.2 million square metres.

The contracting file for drafting the project and managing the adaptation and expansion works at the Libertas High School has been approved by the General Assembly of the Government of Spain.

The contracting file for drafting the project and managing the adaptation and expansion works at the Libertas High School has been approved by the General Assembly of the Government of Spain.

The base budget for the project's tender amounts to 209,760 euros (VAT included), with the planned investment for the execution of the works to adapt and expand the IES Libertas amounting to 3,149,262 euros.

The city of Torrevieja will join Earth Hour next Saturday, March 22nd, with the switching off of public lighting in five iconic squares: Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza Miguel Hernández, Plaza del Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen, Plaza de Oriente, and Plaza de Encarnación Puchol de La Mata. All lights in these squares will remain off from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
