This morning, the Local Government Board of Torrevieja City Council awarded, through an open procedure subject to harmonized regulations, the contract for the acquisition, maintenance, and installation of vertical signage for the municipality of Torrevieja to AKRA SEÑAL, SL, for a sum of €424,710, VAT included. This contract will be valid for one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

The proximity of this facility to City Hall will allow for more agile and efficient communication between the various departments, reducing travel times, facilitating coordination in case management, and offering better direct attention to citizens.

The award of this contract was carried out through a negotiated procedure without publicity, as the simplified open procurement file was left void at the time.

The mass in honor of the patron saints of the Police will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and later, recognitions and merits will be presented to almost 200 officers at the Torrevieja International Auditorium.

The Government team's intention is to turn La Plasa into a dynamic element of the urban center and all the local commerce in the area.

The reinforcement of 41 officers in the Local Police has allowed for better coverage of the city and reinforced security throughout the summer in Torrevieja.

The Local Police incorporates two patrols that will focus on reducing absenteeism and preventing risks such as bullying, youth violence, and addictions.

These works will be awarded in the coming weeks, with a budget of 3,929,401.2 euros, and will last approximately eight months, so they could be completed by early summer 2026.

These two tenders will complete the redevelopment of the entire area known as the port landfill, pending the tendering of the finishing works around the Levante Dike walkway and the acquisition of the craft vendors' stalls, which will be tendered shortly, so that the entire complex will be operational throughout next year 2026.

The company COBRA INSTALACIONES Y SERVICIOS, SAU has been chosen to carry out the works, with a reduction of 8.12% compared to the tender price and having presented a commitment to reduce the execution period of the works by 15 weeks, setting a total period of 15 months.

The new naturalized space will feature sports areas, rain gardens, and the capacity to retain more than 2,000 m3 of rainwater.

The Minister of Infrastructure underlines the drive for other projects such as the project in Eras de la Sal, for which a budget of 135,000 euros has been allocated for the construction of its auditorium. The restoration work on Muelle Mínguez and the remodelling of its port area will be fully completed during the last quarter of this year, 2025.

The works have an execution period of 18 months and an investment of 6,458,853 euros (VAT included). After the demolition works, the entire area will be conditioned, a new temporary fence will be installed and the modular construction sheds will be placed and the material will be stockpiled, all assisted by the archaeology team hired by the City Council in accordance with the requirements set by the Cultural Heritage of the Generalitat Valenciana.
