The City Council is enhancing the town's urban image by planting flowers in various locations throughout the city to mark the arrival of spring and the celebration of Holy Week.

This urban space improvement project is carried out through tree planting, furniture renovation, and maintenance work to enhance its functionality and environmental quality.

The work being carried out includes a thorough cleaning of the structures, the removal of accumulated sediment, the inspection of the operating systems, and the repair of small cracks detected in some of the fountains.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has announced that if the planned deadlines are met, the works will be completed in February/March 2027. The park, with an area of 30,000 m2, is consolidating its position as a space designed for family leisure, reinforcing its character as a meeting point and landmark for children within the municipality. Environmental educators visited the festival areas, encouraging residents to recycle glass to meet the recycling challenge set by Ecovidrio. The residents of Torrevieja recycled a total of 3,153,867 kilograms of glass containers. This means that each resident recycled an average of 31.4 kilograms of glass. Torrevieja has an average of 100 inhabitants per container, and currently has a total of 996 glass recycling containers installed throughout the municipality.

The new park will cover an area of 70,000 square meters and will involve an investment of 5.4 million euros, making it one of the largest in the municipality.
