The service will be expanded with ten new licenses in the coming months, eight of which are soon to be awarded and two are in process, for a total of 16 new licenses.

The project will improve accessibility, reorganize the transport network, and adapt the infrastructure to the new concession.

Environmental educators visited the festival areas, encouraging residents to recycle glass to meet the recycling challenge set by Ecovidrio. The residents of Torrevieja recycled a total of 3,153,867 kilograms of glass containers. This means that each resident recycled an average of 31.4 kilograms of glass. Torrevieja has an average of 100 inhabitants per container, and currently has a total of 996 glass recycling containers installed throughout the municipality.

Vehicles may park for a maximum of two hours, with parking controlled by the Local Police license plate reader. Outside of these hours, parking will be prohibited, and starting next Monday, July 7, anyone who fails to comply with the signs will be fined by the local police.

The duration of the contract will be four years plus a possible one-year extension, with the base tender budget being 1,198,143 euros (VAT included).

In the Ordinary Plenary Session held last Monday, April 29, the initial approval of the Ordinance Regulating Works and Services in the Public Domain and Use dependent on the Torrevieja City Council was carried out, which has the character of a general regulatory provision, in the exercise of ordinary municipal jurisdiction that regulates the aspects of intervention and control for the drafting and execution of Urbanization Projects and Ordinary Works Projects.

The overall action will involve an estimated municipal investment of one million euros, and will involve the adaptation and landscaping of this entire space for the enjoyment of citizens.

Thanks to this initiative, the citizens of Torrevieja will be able to learn about the importance of recycling glass and how much each individual contributes with this simple gesture.

The maximum individual amount of aid will be 75 euros per month for those students who use school transport 2 trips per day, for a maximum period of 10 months, between September 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón, accompanied by the manager of the concessionaire company (EYSA), Javier Basoco, visited the new Municipal Vehicle Depot this morning, located in a land owned by the City Council with a surface area of 7,000 square meters, between the Fire Station, the Ecopark and the Municipal Animal Shelter.

With this new work team, the aim is to reinforce control over the service itself and detect breaches by some companies and citizens on a daily basis, and which are included in the Municipal Urban Cleaning Ordinance, with infractions ranging from 50-750 euros.
