The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Equality and Women headed by Inmaculada Montesinos, joins the events of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated on November 25.

It has received an investment of 1,350,000 euros, in a collaboration between the Valencian Regional Government, the Torrevieja City Council and the ADIEM Foundation. The mayor has announced that in 2026, alongside these new facilities, construction will begin on a residence for people with extreme support needs.

The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, reports that the Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of NGOs and Volunteering, and once the bidding process has concluded, has provisionally awarded the contract to the company Francisco M. Juárez Pozuelo for the drafting of the basic and execution project, the health and safety plan and the waste management plan for the construction of the new Day Centre for people with Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases "Tomás Ballester Herrera".

In this way, the center will be used as a family meeting point, a residence for people with functional diversity and a residence for functional diversity for children and adolescents.

The objective of the campaign is to send dental hygiene products, such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, to the Saharawi refugee camps.

AGAMED launched an initiative at the end of last year to help the most vulnerable groups and promote sustainability among citizens. Thus, it promised to donate 1 euro for each customer who requested the digital invoice. This month has concluded this campaign in which more than €2,000 have been raised that will go to the local NGO Solidarity Food.
