The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has declared that the future "Tomás Ballester Herrera" Day Center will be a modern, accessible and fully adapted space, designed to offer a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment for users to receive specialized and quality care.

The contract has been awarded to VIGIPROT SLU, for an annual amount of 118,433 euros (VAT included), with an initial duration of two years, with the possibility of a two-year extension.

The new building will become a center for technological innovation, entrepreneurship and business development, aimed at fostering local talent and the creation of new companies

The base budget for the tender amounts to 10,067,284.73 euros (VAT included), the deadline for submitting bids is 35 calendar days, and the duration of the works contract is 18 months.

The future Maestro Lafuente Infant and Primary School, which will be located in the Villa Amalia area, will be a three-stream public school, with a school cafeteria, gymnasium, multipurpose spaces and all the necessary infrastructure to serve the educational community with the highest quality guarantees

The new park will cover an area of 70,000 square meters and will involve an investment of 5.4 million euros, making it one of the largest in the municipality.

In total, 223,766 m2 of streets and avenues in Torrevieja will be resurfaced.

The Red Cross and Civil Protection have informed CECOPAL that a total of 23 homeless people (16 men and 7 women) were transferred last night to the "Tavi and Carmona" Sports Pavilion, where they are currently staying and are being cared for at all times by volunteers from Alimentos Solidarios.

The proximity of this facility to City Hall will allow for more agile and efficient communication between the various departments, reducing travel times, facilitating coordination in case management, and offering better direct attention to citizens.

The award of this contract was carried out through a negotiated procedure without publicity, as the simplified open procurement file was left void at the time.

The Government team's intention is to turn La Plasa into a dynamic element of the urban center and all the local commerce in the area.

These works will be awarded in the coming weeks, with a budget of 3,929,401.2 euros, and will last approximately eight months, so they could be completed by early summer 2026.
